Section 63 Energy Action Plans

A Section 63 Energy Action Plan applies to Scotland. For England and Wales see the new MEES that came into force on April 2018

A Section 63 Action Plan (1st September 2016) is required for any non domestic building over 1000m2 and is required in addition to an EPC for sale or rent. These regulations require action to assess and improve energy efficiency and reduce  GHG  Emissions.

There is a legal requirement to carry out the specified improvement measures within three and an a half years or defer the improvements annually by the use of a Display Energy Certificate (DEC). On completion of the sale or rental agreement the responsibility of the Action Plan transfers to the new Owner or Tenant.
